Countdown to Uganda

Airplane ticket CHECK
What else do I need?

…And the count down beginnings. I can hardly believe that in a few weeks I will be boarding a plan to Uganda. Wow, looking back at this whole situation, who would have thought that a friend recommending me to this program would turn in to this. I’m truly humbled and thankful for all the people who have supported me financially and spiritually. This journey would not have been possible without y’all.

I needed to raise over $13,040. That's a lot of money and I knew that if I wanted to go, I would have to work hard to earn the money. God is such a good father. He placed jobs in my path, grants/scholarships. Not to mention all the people who have donated. I look back over the past couple months, and I notice God’s blessing and favor over my life. It makes me speechless. I really didn’t realize the favor over my life till Thanksgiving. I had just got the shots that I needed to enter Uganda.

A couple hours later I received a text message from a friend saying, “Hey my dad wants to talk to you here is his number.” I thought I was in trouble for something at first. However, I called him and he started asking about my Uganda trip. Here’s, where it gets good. He asked if I had received the shots that I needed yet. I then told him that I just got them a few hours before I called him. In this moment I realized how good God is. My friend dad then told me that he was going to reimburse me for the shots. I was speechless. There was a long pause because I had no clue what to say.

God is so good, and He knew what I needed and He provided for me. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (Matthew 9-11). In that moment I knew that all I need to do is seek God, and his righteousness. “And He will meet all my needs according to His riches and glory” (Philippians 4:19).

So thank you for all the support you have given me over this past couple months to prepare for this journey and please continue to pray for me.  Y’all are truly amazing people.
